This was our last day in Athens. We had breakfast and Jayne kindly then took some of our clothes to a laundromat just a few minutes away from the hotel. We finished with that just as our check out time neared.
We did our room check and made our way to the front desk. We left our bags and began our last wander around. We made our way to the parliament building where the guards conduct a special change and parade on Sundays. It was packed! We missed the changing of the guard but witnessed the band play as the troops marched past.

We then explored more of the national garden, as Josie wanted to see the turtles once again. We continued around until it was time to head back toward the hotel. We made a stop for Josie to get one last taste from her favorite bakery for later and to get a focaccia sandwich.
The hotel kindly called for a cab and soon we were on our way to the airport. It was just about a 40 minutes easy ride and thankfully it went fairly smoothly once we got inside. A long line through security but it went fine. Out at the gate they very civilly sold wine to drink as we waited to board. Woohoo!
The flight to Santorini was less than an hour. Fun to look out at all the islands as we flew over. Our driver was a bit delayed, but once he arrived he apologized profusely. Apparently his last job had a needy elderly woman. I can understand that!

We were met by the hotel reception manager as no cars were allowed closer. She helped us with our bags as we made our way to the hotel. A small place called the Museum Project in Oia. It used to be the home of a ship captain. Apropos. We got settled in the headed out for a much needed dinner.
I love reading about your adventures. I am so happy you are living your best life.
