We had a delicious dinner, which there is no shortage of in the city. It was packed with hikers and tourists with no end of restaurants and souvenir shops. We have no desire to carry anything extra, so we ignored the shops.
We enjoyed having a room and bath to ourselves so slept in a bit. By the time we got going the cafe downstairs was open so we opted for a quick cup of espresso.

We headed out of the city, with only a light rain coming down. Soon we saw a marker I recall from the previous walk that shows the distance to Finisterre and Muxía, rather than Santiago. Rather nice to see the true end of our journey on the horizon.

As we got out of the city and up a hill we could look over toward it. With the morning clouds hanging over it, it presented a rather Harry Potter-ish look.

The rest of today’s walk seemed to be mostly uphill, and not gentle hills. Another good workout. I thought I would recall more of it, but no, mostly it seemed fresh and new. I was so pleased when the early rain ceased, and eventually the sun began to poke out. I could even take my rain jacket off!

We stopped at a cafe for our usual mid morning coffee and toast with jam. Then continued on, knowing it would be a longer day.

We crossed over the Rio Tambre, which was flowing at an obviously high level. At a few places it appeared that the water level had reached the doors and higher on the nearby houses. We had to take several diversions as the heavy rains has washed out a few places.

After what seemed like endless uphill walks we finally reached Negreira. After checking in to the albergue the kids walked just up the street for supplies. We timed it well, getting into the kitchen to fix dinner before everyone else came streaming in.

So great you have continued your journey and what lovely pictures, I hope no one was living there, in the houses where the water reached the roof. I love the old old buildings you have captured in your photos. It is a beautiful country. Great job!!!
