Off to Lisbon!

My 70th year adventures continue after a wonderful trip to the Galapagos and Machu Picchu. I so enjoyed hiking the Camino Primitivo with my daughter, Mandy, back in 2017, we decided to hike together again, but this time through Portugal. Traveling to Portugal has been a bucket list item for quite awhile, and hiking with my daughter and her partner, Kevin, is making it even more special. It took a bit to convince him to join us, as it’s not his usual type of hike, but he’s a great traveling companion, so I’m thrilled it will be the three of us. They both add such a great dimension to my travels, making me braver, more curious and much more in the present.

We are starting off with a bit of a diversion to Colorado so they can go to Leadville for new Melanzanas. If you’ve never been fortunate to have a “Melly” you’re missing out. They are cuddly and warm and beautifully made there in Leadville, the only place you can get them. So to Colorado we go to begin this journey, then off to Lisbon via a stopover in Dublin. We’ll stay there a few days to get adjusted a bit to the time zone and to explore the city, then off to hike the coastal route up to Porto, on to Compostela de Santiago, Spain and ending in Muxia, Spain. We so enjoyed it there at the end of the Primitivo, we’ll have a bit of a re-do.

So, if you’d like, follow along with the journey. I always enjoy comments to know someone is out there going along with me.

    hello Sharon and Mandy,

    Enjoy your trip.
I walked also the camino portuges in 2018 and 2021. The portuges people are very friendly. It’s easy walking
I have to break in Porto because my father-in-law died. It restarted in 2021 , from Porto to Santiago.
I still have wonderful memories of our camino primitivo when I  met you.

Me and my wife will follow your adventures.
    buon camino

    1. Hello, Chris!

How wonderful to hear from you! We have such fond memories of our Primitivo family, which certainly includes you. It’s good to learn that you are still hiking and doing well. I’ll try to tell the story of our adventure.
