We were transported from our Cusco hotel to the airport for our flight to Lima. With it being a domestic flight it was much easier going. While all of us were in the same area on the plane we were all mixed in seating, which pleased us as we’ve become good friends.

Bags collected we climbed aboard the big bus we began with, along with our local guides, Alicia and Sonya. We drove from the airport to the beach, to the area known as Barraco.

A delicious lunch was served at Cala, obviously a popular local beach side restaurant. We then walked a bit around the area until it was time for our mixology class. Yes! We had tables set up with everything we needed to learn how to properly make two Peruvian specialties – Pisco Sour and Inca Soul.

It was rather an unruly class as many of us had already consumed a Pisco Sour and wine at lunch. Our mixologist patiently walked us through the recipes with much ado and toasting each other. We even convinced our guides to participate. Plus they had prepared a bit of food as a palate cleanser, as the second drink was more as a dessert drink. Neighbors: get prepared for me to begin serving these!

Well, it was a happy group that climbed back aboard the bus, back to the Westin hotel, where we had previously spent one night. Our bags, including those we had left with them for the past week, were waiting for us in our rooms.

This is when we had to start our goodbyes as some of our fellow travelers left soon afterwards. We are all slowly departing today and tomorrow to parts far and wide. Patty and I arranged to be able to stay until late tomorrow as we have such an ungodly overnight flight ahead. We were pleased going into our room to find ourselves on the opposite side as before with a view of the water and a beautiful sunset.
